OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

Statewide through April 5:
All gatherings of 25 persons or more, or gatherings of any size that cannot maintain a consistent six-foot distance between persons, are prohibited. This Order shall apply to all gatherings, events or activities that bring 25 or more persons in a single room or single space at the same time.
Any restaurant, bar, brewery or similar establishments shall not permit on-premise consumption of food or drink. Governor Ivey continues to encourage patrons to visit their local eateries for take-out or delivery provided the social distancing protocols include maintaining a consistent six-foot distance between persons are followed.
All beaches will be closed effective today at 5:00 p.m. For clarification, the term “beach” means the sandy shoreline area abutting the Gulf of Mexico, whether privately or publicly owned, including beach access points.
Preschools and childcare centers will be closed effective at close of school or business today. This shall not apply to licensed childcare centers that provide services exclusively to employees with: State and Local Governments, First Responders (including EMS and Fire Services), Law Enforcement, Hospitals, Nursing Home/Long Term Care Facilities (including Assisted Living and Specialty Care Assisted Living Facilities), End Stage Renal Disease Treatment Centers, Pharmacies and grocery stores.
Effective immediately, all Hospitals and Nursing Home/Long Term Care Facilities (including Assisted Living and Specialty Care Assisted Living Facilities) shall prohibit visitation of all visitors and non-essential health care personnel, except for certain compassionate care situations such as maternity and end-of-life.
All elective dental and medical procedures shall be delayed, effective immediately.
Governor Kay Ivey: “Despite our best efforts, the threat of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread and, unfortunately, we have not yet reached peak impact. The decision to place regulations upon Alabamians living in Jefferson County and its surrounding counties was an effort to contain the area in which the virus has been prevalent in our state.
“As of this morning, 68 individuals have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Alabama. While I am pleased that many of our citizens are self-regulating and are practicing social distancing, we want to ensure that Alabama is doing our part to flatten the curve.
“Closing Alabama beaches is not a simple decision but one that I came to with the consultation of our elected officials along the coast and members of my administration. After many rounds of conversations with local leaders, in which we discussed several options, I have decided to close beach access in any form. Since we do not want to promote social gatherings, keeping the beaches open sends the wrong message to the public. At this moment, the safety and wellbeing of Alabamians is paramount.
“In addition, we rely heavily upon our first responders and critical healthcare workers to help those who are ill, as well as essential state government employees to keep the continuity of government, and many of them struggle with dependent childcare if daycares close. As a result, I have asked the Alabama Department of Human Resources and the Alabama Department of Public Health to explore emergency rulemaking to make critical exemptions to allow for daycare to be provided for these areas of crucial personnel.
“My administration – and all the services of state government – are going to be as flexible as humanly possible to help make your government work for you during the coming days and weeks. I want to the thank the people of our great state for their continued patience and for taking great care of themselves and each other during this pandemic.”
State Health Officer Dr. Scott Harris: “We understand that the health orders issued will be a hardship on Alabamians. We must, first and foremost, protect the health and safety of our citizens. This decision has not been made lightly and will help to prevent the spread of this virus.”
Dr. Scott Harris and the Alabama Department of Public Health will host a webcast press conference to give further details this afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Concering the coronavirus

This message might not pretain to all owners but we felt it very important to share…

Good evening owners,

Just wanted to update y’all on what has been transpiring over the last week. Things are changing daily, sometimes by the hour. Currently the beaches are open. Several businesses have closed. Some restaurants & bars remain open, but we’ve heard they need to prepare for carry-out & to-go only.
We have fielded several calls from guest concerned about their stay. We are currently following VRBO direction of credits or Full refunds for stays. VRBO is recommending through April 30th, but currently we are only issuing through April 15th. That may change next week or as more mandates or guidelines are released. If you are Bella Luna owner I’m sure by now you’ve received the email about all amenities within the complex are closed for 2wks. We feel other complexes will follow. On a positive note we are getting several bookings for the next 3wks & the beaches are very busy. My staff is doing a fabulous job of handling guests questions & concerns. We are hoping this will pass shortly & are ready for a GREAT season! I’m copying VRBO statement below this email. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

Dear Roberts Brothers,
In Vrbo’s nearly 25 years, we’ve been through a lot, but nothing comes close to the current challenges facing our travelers, partners, and team members around the world.

Vrbo is a two-sided marketplace, so for every traveler who paid hard-earned money for a getaway they may not take, there is a partner who is experiencing a loss of bookings and a large number of cancellations. Despite this, the vast majority of you are rising to the occasion and giving credits and/or refunds to travelers in these extreme circumstances. Thank you for exemplifying hospitality — even when it means a financial hardship.

Today, we are introducing our COVID-19 Emergency Policy, a series of measures designed to help navigate these extraordinary circumstances.

For our part, Vrbo is refunding 100% of money it makes through traveler service fees when someone must cancel a trip due to COVID-19.

For your part, we appreciate that you, too, manage a two-sided marketplace accommodating owners and guests. As such, we are offering a choice for handling cancellations for trips booked before March 13 with stays that fall between March 13 and April 30, even on trips that are outside your set cancellation policy.

Option 1 (Default): Offer a credit for full value and flexible stay dates within the next year (at no additional cost) to travelers who can’t take trips now due to COVID-19.

Option 2: If a traveler is unwilling to accept a credit, our advice is to issue them a refund. If you are unable to accommodate a full refund, Vrbo expects you to provide at least a 50% refund if the traveler cancels during this time.

Our intent is to reward Vrbo partners who offer flexibility to travelers during this time of uncertainty with additional visibility in traveler searches on Vrbo and Expedia Group. The idea is that the more you do now for travelers, the more we will reward you moving forward (so a 100% credit/refund will count more than 50% refund and so on).

Here’s more on what Vrbo is doing as part of our COVID-19 Emergency Policy:

Full Refund of Vrbo’s Fees: Vrbo is refunding 100% of money it makes through traveler service fees when someone must cancel a trip due to COVID-19, whether the cancellation is government-mandated or not. This is in effect for all stays booked before March 13 with a night between March 13 and April 30. Travelers don’t have to do anything to collect the refund, it will happen automatically over the next few weeks. They do not need to call and confirm.

Automatically Waiving Related Cancellation Penalties: If you need to cancel due to this event, we will automatically waive the cancellation so it does not impact your ranking metrics or your Premier Partner status. You no longer have to call Customer Service to get the cancellation waived for cancellations issued from January 30, 2020 until further notice.

We realize the new policy we are implementing may not be perfect, but in this unprecedented time we believe it strikes the best balance of protecting travelers, partners and the public. I am sure you may have questions. We primarily want you to understand the spirit of how we hope to address this situation. Please review our help portal and Discovery Hub for the most up-to-date information. These resources will be updated every 48 hours with new information.

We have been in contact with thousands of our partners in the past days and I am humbled by your willingness to rise to the occasion, and appreciative of your sacrifices.

The skies will clear and families will want to travel again. We will be there with open arms to provide spaces to heal and recharge when this is over.

IMPORTANT NOTICE Concering the coronavirus

NOTICE
EFFECTIVE 11pm TONIGHT – March 18,2020

Out of an abundance of caution and in order to preserve the health and welfare of resident owners and staff who are responsible for performing essential services necessary for the well-being of the property, the Board of Directors has deemed it necessary to close off all common area amenities. This includes, indoor pool, fitness room, outdoor pools, and docks. (Owners with boats are not restricted from gaining access to their boat.) At the same time, we will have management personnel to monitor and disburse gatherings of ten or more people on the property in keeping with the government-imposed restrictions. This temporary restriction will be in effect until April 1. The Board of Directors will revisit this policy in ten days and determine at that time whether to extend the time frame past April 1 or lift the restriction on April 1. Should conditions change which may require additional measures we will make our owners aware at that time.

Should the Federal Government issue tighter restrictions while this policy is in effect, then that restriction or mandate will supersede the policy of the Board of Directors and go in effect at that time.

Bella Luna will remain open to maintenance companies or local vendors performing necessary services to the property and/or individual condos. It will be mandatory that those companies check in onsite. While these measures may not stop the spread of the coronavirus and its exposure, it will certainly delay or offset consequences that will arise should no action be taken at all. These are tough times and uncharted territory for all of us. We will get through this together and come out on the other side stronger and wiser. Owners that rent, please notify your rental company immediately so that all incoming renters will be made aware of reduced use restrictions on the property.

We encourage everyone to use paper towels and hand sanitizer that is provided. And be sure and WASH you hands as often as you can.

THE BEACHES ARE STILL OPEN AT THIS TIME!

Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
